Clinical Evidence
Clinical Evidence summarizes evidence from high-quality systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials about the benefits and harms on over 3,000 interventions in the prevention and treatment of over 570 globally important and common clinical conditions. Evidence is presented in the context of clinical questions or decision points, and report only on those outcomes that matter to patients. The reviews are continuously updated and integrated with a range of additional Evidence-based Medicine (EBM) resources to provide access to the very latest and most relevant medical knowledge for treatment decisions.
Cochrane Library

The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. These databases are: Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews, Health Technology Assessment Database, NHS Economic Evaluation Database.
DynaMed
DynaMed is an evidence-based, clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians & other health care professionals. Contains clinically-organized summaries for more than 3,200 topics. Content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases is monitored on a daily basis. EBM Reviews: ACP Journal Club
1991 - present   
It is the electronic full text of two print journals: ACP Journal Club, a publication of the American College of Physicians, and Evidence-Based Medicine, a joint publication with the BMJ Group. Studies that are both methodologically sound and clinically relevant to review are selected from top clinical journals and summarized in well-structured abstracts with commentaries by clinical experts.
EBM Reviews: Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CCTR)
Includes details of published articles taken from bibliographic databases and other published resources. The records include the title of the article, information on where it was published and, in many cases, the abstract.
EBM Reviews: Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
Investigate the effects of interventions for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation in a healthcare setting and includes the full text of systematic reviews.
EBM reviews: Cochrane Methodology Register
Presents a bibliography of publications that report on methods used when conducting controlled trials. It includes journal articles, books and conference proceedings. Articles are taken from MEDLINE and from hand-searches.
EBM Reviews: Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects
Complements The Cochrane Reviews by quality-assessing and summarising reviews which have not been carried out by The Cochrane Collaboration. DARE is unique in that it is the only database to contain abstracts of systematic reviews that have been quality assessed.
EBM Reviews: Health Technology Assessment
Brings together details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical and economic implications of healthcare interventions) from around the world.
EBM Reviews: NHS Economic Evaluation Database
NHS EED assists decision-makers by systematically identifying economic evaluations from around the world, appraising their quality and highlighting their relative strengths and weaknesses.
Essential Evidence Plus
Essential Evidence Plus (EE+) is a comprehensive clinical decision support system that integrates information on 9,000 diagnoses into healthcare professionals’ clinical workflows. It features over 13,000 topics, guidelines, abstracts, tools, images, and summaries covering the most common conditions, diseases, and procedures clinicians come in contact with every day. Every recommendation carries a strength-of-evidence rating that grades each recommendation’s merit on the basis of all of the evidence available in the relevant literature. EE+ can also be accessed with mobile-devices. When visiting the site on a mobile device, users will automatically be redirected to the mobile version of the site.
UpToDate (On campus access only)
Up-to-date is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed clinical resource to assist with diagnosis and treatment by providing specific answers to clinical questions, increasing users’ clinical knowledge and improving patient care. It covers over 8,500 topic reviews in 17 medical specialties written by over 4400 editors, physicians and reviewers. They monitor more than 440 journals and incorporate new studies in the context of what has already been published in that field. These topic reviews include a synthesis of the literature, the latest evidence, and specific recommendations. They are fully illustrated and referenced and with links to Medline abstracts and a drug database Lexi-Comp.
