Multimedia Collections

Incorporating the complete audiovisual collections previously housed at the University Library, the Multimedia Library is the University Library System's primary collection of non-print materials. It comprises audiovisual materials in a wide range of subject field. The formats found here include videodiscs (VCD), digital versatile discs (DVD), laser disc (LD), compact audio discs (CD), videocassettes, audiocassettes, and kits etc.

The Multimedia Library is also a full-scale expansion of the Library's previous Electronic Resources Centre, housing a collection of CDROMs on various subjects.

Users can find the Local Television Programme Collection on the 2/F. The Library has been granted permission by RTHK, TVB and ATV to off-air record their current affairs and instructional TV programmes.

To support the languages teaching of the Independent Learning Centre, two special collections are newly set up - the Language Collection and the Special Language Collection. The former one is circulating with loan rule same as other multimedia materials. For the latter, the materials are for in-house use only.

Users are advised to take good care of library materials.

Non-print Reserve Materials

Non-print materials are put on reserve as requested by teaching staff. Items are circulated for various loan periods as recommended and can be requested at the Circulation Counter on the G/F. Please refer to the details of Placing Non-print Materials on Reserve.
