The information board was installed in the Lobby in 2002 and is for the use of University Library's news broadcast. Officially named "Holographic Screen" or "Holoscreen" in Asia (United States Patent and Trademark Office Patent Number: 6924912), the board is a kind of projection screens which displays images sourced from a projector. Holographic Screen is different from common projection screen in many ways. Operationally, images can be displayed on the screen in bright environment. Besides, the screen is semi-transparent by which the impact on spacing sensibility is lesser. Technically, the board is made of special holographic materials by which images can be captured and shown on the screen. Images are projected from the back of the screen where the projector is installed that preserves the harmonious environment. If you want to know more technical information about Holographic Screen, you may search over United States Patent and Trademark Office's website (http://www.uspto.gov)
