Most of the materials in the Multimedia Collection are for in-house use in the Library. To facilitate teaching preparation, teaching staff could borrow these materials for use outside the Library.
Borrowing
- Loan quota and Loan period of multimedia materials
- How to use library materials inside the library premises:
Carrels on the G/F
- Get the material you need from the CD, DVD, LD, VCD Collections
- Register at the Circulation Counter
- Use the material selected at one of the 42 carrels
Standalone Computers (UCL117 & UCL118) on the 1/F
- Get the material you need from the CDROM Collection
- Use the material selected at one of the workstations
Carrels on the 2/F

Select video tape/ sound cassette from the collection

Use the material at corresponding carrels

Insert Student/Staff/Library Card in the card reader to power on the equipment
Returns
- Return materials after In-library use:
- Materials used on the G/F should be returned to the Circulation Counter
- Materials used on the 1/F & 2/F could be left on the book trucks provided on each floor
- Audiovisual materials on loan can be returned to any CUHK Libraries.
- Book Drops - All non-print materials should not be returned to any of the ULS book drops
Renewals
Teaching staff can renew checked out non-print materials twice provided that the materials are not booked for a particular class. Online renewals can be done by viewing your own circulation record.
For other circulating materials, users can check out, check in and renew the items at the circulation counter on the G/F. Books borrowed from other libraries of the University Library System can be returned to the circulation counter or the book drop when the Library is closed.
