Research Consultation Service |

The Information, Research and Instructional Services Department offers a research consultation service to CUHK faculty members and postgraduate students to provide access and direction to sources of information which pertain to the researcher's specific project. The librarian will assist the researcher in identifying information needs, constructing effective search techniques, locating information and using print and electronic resources. Faculty are invited to use this service as well as to recommend this free service to their postgraduate students.
Research consultations take place in the Consultation Room at the University Library, in order to use all Library resources available, in all applicable formats. To make an appointment, please complete the Research Consultation Request Form. |

Faculty Requests for Library Instruction
The Information, Research and Instructional Services Department provides course-related instruction classes upon request. If faculty members want to set up a customized library instruction session for their students, please complete the Library Instruction Request Form or call at 2609 7305.
Library Instruction Program
Seminars on using different library resources are held from time to time. Users in group may also request a library seminar to suit their information needs.
Library Orientation
Library orientation sessions are organised for new students at the beginning of each academic year. Additional orientation sessions are available upon request.

Information leaflets on the Library and instruction guides to the use of various library resources are available at the Reference Room, and on the Library web page. |

Citation Search Service for Faculty |
|

The Library offers a citation search service to faculty members who are interested in finding out how many times their publications have been cited in the core journals of a discipline. The citation search will be conducted by using ISI Web of Science. A summary report exported from the ISI databases will contain the authors, title of publication, publication year/month and times cited.

Based on the HKInChiP, the Information, Research and Instructional Services Department collaborates with the University of Macau Library to provide the Hong Kong Macau Periodicals Network. This index database covers over 350 Chinese and Bilingual Periodicals published in Hong Kong and Macau. CUHK & UGC Access / Public Access |
