Information Literacy Courses for CUHK Students: June - July 2013

The University Library will offer intensive courses from June to July 2013 to assist students in preparing for the Information Literacy Section of the Student IT Proficiency Test.

The courses provide not only an overview of the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial, but also include exercises and practice tests in:

  1. Formulating effective search strategies;
  2. Finding information using the Library Catalogue, research databases and the Internet; and
  3. Evaluating information sources.

Two three-hour identical sessions are scheduled.

Registration: Complete the Online Registration Form

Venue: User Education Room 2, G/F University Library

Request a Seminar or Library Orientation Session
Users may request seminars or orientation sessions for a particular subject area or a specific assignment at any time during the year. Please contact the Reference Librarian for details.

Remote Access to E-Resources


Due to license agreement, most of the databases and e-journals can be accessed by CUHK students and staff only. Access must be via the Dial-up Services*, VPN Connection Service, the Library's proxy server service or Easy Access.

*As of January 31, 2012, Dial-up Service will be decommissioned from service.
