How to search periodicals at the Library Catalogue

At the Library Catalogue (Full Catalogue Search) http://library.cuhk.edu.hk/
  1. At the main menu, select Periodicals to search
         

  2. Click on TITLE
         

  3. At the input pane, type the exact periodical title or the first few words of the periodical title
         

  4. At the full display of a print periodical, the holdings information of the periodical is shown in two boxes.
    1. Upper box: shows the location, call number, summary holdings information on the unbound issues
      • Click Latest Received to see the checkin information of every unbound issue
      • An issue with TO BIND status means the issue has been sent to the bindery
    2. Lower box: shows the holding information of the bound issues

  5. At the full display of an electronic journal, the hyperlinks of available e-versions are listed in the left column and each version's full-text coverage is given in the right column.
    Click on the hyperlink of an e-version which provides the full-text of the issue you need. (E-journals must be accessed via the CUHK Campus Network.)

At Library Catalogue 2.0,

  1. At the input pane, input words in the periodical's title.
  2. On the result page, click on Periodicals under COLLECTION.
  3. Click on the name of the journal to view its full record.
  4. The full record page gives the holdings statement and information of individual bound volumes.
  5. To obtain information on individual current/unbound issues, click on "Find Out More" at the left and then in the popup window, click on "Latest Received".
  6. If it is an e-journal and the fulltext coverage statement next to the "Access via ...." statement includes the required issue, click on the fulltext coverage statement to browse the e-journal.
