What is Z39.50?Z39.50 defines a standard protocol for information retrieval between twocomputers. A user in one of the two systems on which this protocol hasbeen implemented may search the other system without learning the othersystem's search syntax. What is EndNote?EndNote is a bibliographic manager software that includes Z39.50 client,hence facilitates direct connection to electronic resources that support Z39.50protocol. For further details about Endnote, please refer to Endnote.
How to connect to various electronic resources?A. UGC Libraries' Catalogues

C. EndNote Import Filter for EMBASE (OVID)
On 20th August, 2007 the Ovid Embase database was reloaded. Since this reload, there are problems with using the Direct Export feature from Ovid Embase to EndNote.EndNote has provided an updated filter which addresses the problems. To use the proper import filter, EndNote users should detach this filter into: Program FilesEndNoteFilters.
Problems on Connection
- Check the connection file / configuration file of your client software against the above, the database name or the server address might have been changed.
- Try again later, sometimes, connection is refused because the maximum number of concurrent connection to a database / catalogue has been reached.
