Biography of Professor Dai Longji Professor Dai Longji was born on 8 February 1947 in Chengdu. He joined
a production team in Inner Mongolia in 1968. From 1977 to 1982, he studied
at the Peking University for a bachelor’s degree in Library Science.
After graduation, he stayed on to teach at the University. He was a visiting
scholar at the American Maryland University during 1985-86. Professor
Dai joined the Peking University Library in 1989, and became its General
Associate Librarian in 1993. In 1997, he was transferred to the China
Educational Publications Import and Export Corporation as the Deputy General
Manager, and was appointed as a research librarian of the Peking University
Library in the same year. Since 1999, Prof. Dai has been the Director
of the Peking University Library. He has also assumed several positions
such as the Deputy Director of the China Academic Library & Information
System (CALIS) and the Branch Director of the Library Society of China. |
