INTRODUCTION
Mr. GAO Xingjian is "a novelist, playwright, director, painter and literary theorist," and is also the first Chinese ever to receive the honor of Nobel Prize for Literature. He has made tremendous contributions to the writing and theory of plays, arts, novels and essays and emits his own personal and unique style in all these areas.
Gao Xingjian Collection website is intended to be the portal site containing comprehensive information on Gao Xingjian for scholars and researchers. Five categories of materials are tentatively arranged:
- Works: includes articles and works published by Mr. Gao Xingjian;
- Paintings: includes his paintings that can be found on the Internet as well as all the criticism on his paintings and arts;
- Criticism: includes all kinds of criticism on him or his works and provides links to materials either available on the Internet or electronic resources subscribed by the University Library System of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (only available via CUHK network);
- Multimedia: includes multimedia materials related to Mr. Gao Xingjian and his works;
- News: includes and provides links to all kinds of news and activities related to Mr. Gao Xingjian and his works.
The majority of information are in Chinese for the time being. Information in other languages will be included gradually.
