Information Literacy Courses for CUHK Students: January - June 2008

The University Library will offer intensive courses from January to June 2008 to assist students in preparing for the Information Literacy Section of the Student IT Proficiency Test. The course provides not only an overview of the Web-based Information Literacy Tutorial, but also includes exercises and practices in (1) formulating search strategies, (2) finding information using the Library Catalogue, research databases and the Internet, and (3) evaluating information sources.

Users may request seminars or orientation sessions for a particular subject area or a specific assignment at any time during the year. Please contact the Reference Librarian for details.

Due to license agreement, most of the databases and e-journals can be accessed by CUHK students and staff only. Access must be via the Dial-up Services, VPN Connection Service, the Library's proxy server service or Easy Access.
