Visitors and Others

  • Visiting Scholars
    The Library provides access and other library services to our community of Visiting Scholars. To apply, applicants may bring along a memo from (or fill in the form and endorsed by) the heads of the departments that they attach to and a recent photo to the University Library Circulation Counter for a library card to be processed. The Smart Card fee is $50.

  • Spouse of staff
    Spouses of CUHK Staff may apply for a library card with a Smart Card fee of $50. Applicants may bring along a recent photo to the University Library Circulation Counter for processing library cards.

  • CUHK Retired Staff
    CUHK Retired Staff may apply for a library card with a Smart Card fee of $50 for three years. Applicants may bring along the certificate of retirement issued by the Personnel and a recent photo to the University Library Circulation Counter for a library card to be processed.

  • Non-CUHK JULAC Card Holders
    JULAC Library Card Holders from other UGC libraries may bring along their application forms and JULAC Library cards issued by their institutions to the University Library Circulation Counter to process a CUHK library smart card for using the CUHK Library services and resources.

    For Undergraduate students of other UGC universities, an annual registration fee of $50 will be charged to apply for a Reader’s card. $50 will be charged for a card replacement.

    For Postgraduates and staff of other UGC universities, free of charge for a Borrower’s Card. $50 will be charged for a card replacement. Borrowing privileges for JULAC Borrower’s Card.

  • Students of the CUHK School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCS)
    SCS students may apply for library cards to use the CUHK Libraries. Please contact the SCS for application details. Borrowing privileges: 5 vols. for 14 days.
