Setting up your PIN (password)

a. At the
web-based catalogue
- Click "
View Your Circulation Record ".
- After reading the special notes, click " Click here to View Your Circulation Record ".
- Enter your name and your Library Card Number.
You may leave the PIN (password) blank.
- Click " Display record for person named above ".
- Enter your new PIN (password). Re-enter the PIN (password)
for confirmation. A PIN (password) can be up to 8 characters of lower-case
alphabets and/or numbers.
- Click " Display record for person named above " again.
You may change your PIN (password) when you view your circulation record.
- Click " Modify your PIN ".
- Enter your old PIN.
- Enter your new PIN. Re-enter the PIN for confirmation.
- Click " Submit ". The message " Your PIN has been modified " will be shown.
- Click " Close Window ".
* To protect your personal information, press START OVER after viewing your record.
b. At the text-based catalogue
- Type " L " for " LIBRARY Catalogue ".
- Type " V " for " VIEW your circulation record ".
- Enter your name, your Library Card Number
and your PIN (password) as requested. You may need to re-enter
the PIN (password) if it is the first time you type in your PIN (password).
A PIN (password) can be up to 8 characters of lower-case alphabets
and/or numbers.
You may change your PIN (password) when you view your circulation record.
- Type " M " for MODIFY pin.
- Enter your old PIN.
- Enter your new PIN. Re-enter the PIN for confirmation.
- Type " Q " to quit your circulation record.
If you forget your PIN (password), you may bring your library card to the
Circulation Counter of any CUHK libraries. The library staff will delete
the PIN (password) and this allow you to set up your PIN (password) again.
