Library Proxy Service Setting for Internet Explorer 5.x
  1. Dial-up through modem / ADSL modem connection 
  2. Local Area Network (LAN) connection 

 
Dial-up through modem / ADSL modem connection 
 
1.
Select Tools -> Internet Options
2.
Select Connections tab. Under Dial-up settings, click on the name of your dial-up service then click [Settings] 
3.
Check the box of Use a proxy server then click [Advanced ...] 
4. 
Enter the following for HTTP and Secure:

Proxy address to use: ra.lib.cuhk.edu.hk 
Port: 8080

Click [OK] all the way until the Internet Options menu is closed
6.
Click [Refresh] on the Standard Buttons toolbar
7.
When a window is pop up, input User Name and Password and then click [OK]

 

Local Area Network (LAN) connection 
 
1. Select Tools -> Internet Options
2. Select Connections tab,
click [LAN settings] 
3. Under Proxy server
check the box of Use a proxy server then click [Advanced ...]
4. Enter the following for HTTP and Secure:

Proxy address to use: ra.lib.cuhk.edu.hk 
Port: 8080

5. Click [OK] all the way until the Internet Options menu is closed 
6. Click [Refresh] on the Standard Buttons toolbar
7. When a window is pop up, input User Name and Password and then click [OK]
