- If you are using Netscape 4.0+, you may create a profile for this service by:
- Close Netscape Navigator
- Under Netscape Communicator -> Utilities -> select User Profile Manager
- Click the [New] button
- Click the [Next] button
- Input your name and email address as you like, or simply click the [Next] button to continue
- Input a Profile Name e.g. Library Proxy Service
- Input the information as you like as you move on until you click the [Finish] button finally
- Netscape will be activated
- Follow the Proxy Setting instructions to configure your browser and other preferences.
- Exit Netscape
- The next time you start Netscape, you will be given a choice of profiles.
- To access library subscribed database via non-CUHK network, select the "Library Proxy service" profile you set up above. Otherwise, use the other profile(s) with proxy settings of your own network.
- With different profiles set up, you need not change the proxy settings back and forth when accessing library subscribed resources or free internet resources. Instead, select the appropriate profile.
