In order to provide a better environment to preserve the microform collection of the University Library, a Microfilm Room was built and completed in early January 2005. The Room provides a 24-hour controlled environment with stable temperature and relative humidity which can effectively reduce the speed of deterioration of microform materials. The University Library's microfilm collection contains invaluable resources on Hong Kong historical sources, contemporary Chinese materials, genealogy records, newspapers and periodicals.
