EPIN X Library: Learning Garden Display Zone Design Competition
All CUHK students are invited to participate in this “Learning Garden Display Zone Design Competition”.
Competition Overview
- To promote creative uses of the Display Zone area for different learning needs
- To showcase the products created in the MakerSpace
- To enhance the spatial quality with visually harmonious aesthetics and sustainability
Purpose of the Learning Garden Display Zone
- Showcase LG equipment, such as VR headsets, 360 cameras, and 3D scanners https://libguides.lib.cuhk.edu.hk/makerspace/home
- Display promotional materials, including posters
- Host mini exhibitions, for example, showcasing students’ 3D printing coursework
- Scope of Design
- 3D model of the new room(draft)

Eligibility
- Full time undergraduate and post-graduate CUHK students
- Individual or team participation (maximum team size: 3 members) is welcome
- Each person may submit one entry only (either as an individual or as part of a team)
*For team participants, you will be required to fill in the full team list and provide the contact information of the team leader.
Awards
- Winning team: HKD$8,000
- Be appointed as Student Consultant(s) to support the project implementation
Briefing Session
The briefing session will take students on a walk through the Learning Garden Display Zone to familiarize them with the competition requirements.

Proposal Format
- PDF (paper size: A3)
- Maximum of 20 slides, including all proposal components
- Name convention: (project title)_(leader’s name). For example: Garden_PaulChan.pdf
Proposal Components
- Concept description (theme, objectives, story, etc) (maximum: 300 words)
- Design diagram(s)
- 3D rendering(s) (maximum: 4 nos.)
- Mood board (maximum: 1 no.)
- Layout plan(s), section (s) and/or elevation (s) with dimensions (1:50 or 1:30)
- Material schedule (1 no.)
- Proposed construction/installation method
- Estimated budget
- Other information (e.g. user analysis, site analysis, statistics, etc)
