The following is a new series of workshops specifically designed for researchers on research data management and research impact. All CUHK researchers and postgraduates are welcome to join.

Program 1: Enhancing Your Research Impact

Using Citation Analysis Tools to Enhance Your Research Dissemination

The workshop will introduce how to:

  • Find ranking of journals from Journal Citation Reports on InCites and SCImago for selecting the best journal for publication
  • Use Match in EndNote to locate appropriate journals for your manuscript
  • Use InCites to compare journal performance

Making the Best Use of ORCID iD to Raise Your Research Profile

An ORCID iD is a persistent digital identifier to disambiguate yourself in the research community so that you can be identified uniquely in the sea of researchers and your research profile can be raised. This workshop is to help you to:

  • Register for an ORCID iD
  • Disseminate and manage your research outputs in ORCID iD
  • Link up your ORCID iD to AIMS and other research profile systems

Program 2: Managing Your Research Data

Effective Management of Your Research Data

Research data is the core of any research. More and more funding agencies and publishers recently require researchers to manage and share their research data. This workshop is to show to you:

  • The increasing importance of research data management to researchers
  • Overview of research data life cycle
  • Strategies for documenting, organizing, and sharing research data
  • Ethical issues and rights relating to research data

Discovering and Reusing Research Data: Data Citation

More and more academic journals require submitting original research data together with your research paper. This workshop is to assist you to understand data citation, different data repositories available, use the correct data citation format and style, and introduce some datasets you can use for your research.
