The following workshops are designed for researchers on evaluating research impact of publications. All CUHK researchers and postgraduates are welcome to join.

How to Measure Impact of Research Papers

This workshop will cover:

  • Where to find article-level metrics
  • How to use citation counts and other metrics to quantify impact of research papers
  • What are the strengths and limitations of citation metrics
  • How to find an author’s h-index
  • What are alternative metrics and how to find them

Citation Analysis Tools for Ranking Journals

The workshop will introduce how to:

  • Find the ranking of journals from Journal Citation Reports and SCImago
  • Use Manuscript Matcher to find the right journals for your manuscript
  • Use InCites to compare journal performance

Understanding Open Access Publishing

The workshop will cover:
