Library Summer Works

The Library is undertaking a number of improvement works and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. The works are necessary to improve facilities and services in the Library, and summer is the optimum timing for minimizing the impact. Please contact counter staff if you need any assistance or have any concerns with the improvement works being undertaken when you are in the Library. Please note that earplugs are available at the Library Service Counter.

University Library

Renovation Works at the Learning Garden
During the period, there will be noisy works. The work area will be blocked, users can enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 20 May – 31 August 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Repair works on 9/F of Tin Ka Ping Building
During the period, there will be noisy works, users can enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 3 June – 31 August 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Air Filter and A/C Drain Pipe Cleaning Works of the University Library, University Library Extension and Tin Ka Ping Building
During the period, there will be noisy works, users can enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 15 June – 7 August 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Water Seepage Repair Works at the Learning Garden
During the period, there will be noisy works. The work area will be suspended, users may enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 23 June – 23 July 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Fire System Repair Work in University Library and University Library Extension
During the period, there will be noisy works. The work area will be suspended for use, users may enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 29 June – 18 July 2026 (9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

Study carrels Removal and Installation Works
During the period, there will be noisy works on 1/F to 4/F of University Library Extension and 2/F to 3/F of Tin Ka Ping Building. The work area will be suspended, users may enter the Library as usual.

Replacement of Air Conditioning Equipment on LG/F of the University Library
During the period, there will be noisy works. The work area will be suspended for use, users can enter the Library as usual.
Works period: 20 – 25 July 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Chung Chi College Library

Renovation Works on the Second-Floor Toilets on Chung Chi College Library
During the period, there will be noisy works. The 2/F toilets at CCL will be closed, users may use the washrooms on other floors.
Works Period: 13 July – 12 October 2026

New Asia College Library

Refurbishment Works on the Lower Ground Floor of the New Asia College Library
During the refurbishment period, LG/F of the New Asia College Library will be closed. Users can use 24-Hour Study Facility in the United College Library.
Works period: 11 May (9:00 a.m.) – 14 August 2026

Ceiling Replacement Works of the New Asia College Library
During the renovation period, there will be noisy works in the library, and the library facilities will be affected as follows:

Second Floor
2/F of the New Asia College Library will be closed. User may contact library staff at Help Desk on G/F to retrieve library collection from 2/F.

United College Library

Enhancement Work of the Seminar Room Works of the United College Library
During the renovation period, there will be noisy works, and the Seminar Room on 1/F in the United College Library will be closed.
Works period: 29 June – 26 July 2026

Renovation Works for the Outdoor Reading Area of the United College Library
During the renovation period, there will be noisy works, and the UCL Reading Outdoor Area will be temporarily closed. User can use the Outdoor Reading Area of New Asia College Library. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Refurbishment Works on the Two Staircases of the United College Library
During the refurbishment period, the two staircases will be accessible alternatively.

Installation of the CCTV in the United College Library
During the installation period, there will be noisy work on LG/F and 1/F in the United College Library.
