Sculpture Exhibition Program
This Sculpture Exhibition Program is a visual art collaboration event between the New Asia College Ch’ien Mu Library and the Hong Kong Sculpture Society. The Ch’ien Mu Library has always supported art and culture with all their strength. Not only displaying artworks of different media, but its art space also lets students of the Fine Art Department to show their brainchild to the public.
The Hong Kong Sculpture Society is a NGO which aims to promote the local sculpture development. We are deeply honored to be invited by the Ch’ien Mu Library to start a series of sculpture exhibitions. We will display different sculptures made by our members and showcase some of our society’s private collection in different periods of time. Each period lasts over four months, and we will switch artworks when each period is over. Hopefully through this art event, we can increase the art atmosphere of the Ch’ien Mu Library, and at the same time give our members a chance to showcase their artworks to various audiences.

Artwork Introduction: “Guardian of the Oasis” is the wood sculpture of the famous Singaporean Sculptor, Mr. Lim Soo Ngee. He had joined the First Hong Kong International Sculpture Symposium, and created this sculpture on site with teak during a period of ten days. This sculpture has an aura of modesty and the beauty of a traditional wood craving, and is a work of high quality.
