The Chung Chi College Library’s collections focus on music, religion, education, sports science, performing arts and theatre. Our music and religion collections are considered significant in Southeast Asia. Rulan Chao Pian Music Collection, an invaluable collection of research, fieldwork, teaching materials and musical instruments was donated by Professor Rulan Chao Pian (1922-2013), Music professor of Harvard University.
Audio Visual materials of Rulan Chao Pian Music Collection are housed in Chung Chi College Library. The original manuscript, correspondence, photos, teaching materials and notes etc. are searchable at CUHK Library Archival Collections.
The Chung Chi College Library was first established in 1951. The present library building was built with the generous support of the Henry Luce Foundation through the United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America and was officially dedicated on October 29, 1971 by Mr. Henry Luce’s sister, Mrs. Elisabeth Luce Moore, after whom the Library was named.
