Library Summer Works

The Library is undertaking a number of improvement works and we apologize for any inconvenience this causes. The works are necessary to improve facilities and services in the Library, and summer is the optimum timing for minimizing the impact. Please contact counter staff if you need any assistance or have any concerns with the improvement works being undertaken when you are in the Library. Please note that earplugs are available at the Library Service Counter.

University Library

Renovation works at Seminar Room on 1/F University Library
The Seminar Room will be closed during this period, and there will be noisy works on the 1/F of the University Library.
Works period: 13 May – 31 Aug 2024

Installation of solar PV system on R/F of the University Library
There will be noisy works on 4/F of the University Library Extension and University Library in the morning from 8 July to 2 August.
Works Period: 8 July – late September 2024

Re-roofing Works at Tin Ka Ping Building
There will be heavy noisy works on 3/F terrace (near newspaper reading area on 2/F), LR/F and R/F. Bookshelves in the call number range of E to F will be inaccessible during this period, but users can make book retrieval requests with our staff at G/F Service Counter or by sending emails to ulcir@lib.cuhk.edu.hk.
Works period: 17 June – 30 September 2024 (including Saturday)

Replacement of Sensors for Male Toilet at Tin Ka Ping Building
There will be noisy works on G/F of the Tin Ka Ping Building male toilet during the period.
Works period: 19 – 21 August 2024

Chung Chi College Library

Installation of solar PV system on R/F of the Chung Chi College Library
There will be noisy works on 2/F in the morning from 8 July to 2 August.
Works Period: 8 July – late September 2024

New Asia College Library

Installation of solar PV system on R/F of the New Asia College Library
There will be noisy works on 1/F and 2/F in the morning from 8 July to 2 August. The LG/F will be closed from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on 20 July 2024 (Sat), during the lifting operation work period.

United College Library

Renovation of Toilets in the United College Library
During renovation, the toilets on LG/F and G/F in the United College Library will be suspended.
The toilets on 1/F and 2/F are available during the renovation period.

Renovation of Outdoor Reading Area in the United College Library
During renovation, the Outdoor Reading Area on 1/F in the United College Library will be suspended.
Works period: 13 May – 31 August 2024
