    Over the years, the Chinese University of Hong Kong Library has acquired very finely reproduced artworks made by specialists including the Nigensha Publishing Co. Ltd. in Japan and kept in the New Asia College Ch’ien Mu Library. The Collection consists of calligraphy and paintings reproduced from the Tang to the Qing Dynasty. The originals of these artworks are housed in different museums such as National Palace Museum, Taipei, Shanghai Museum, and British Museum. The artwork reproduction requires a high standard of professional and specialized skills.

    This exhibition intends to investigate how the painters in the past perceiving the world based on imitation from paintings of the old masters. Painting can be understood as the process of the co-operation of sight, hand and human-mind. It does not only illustrate what did the painter see but also reflects the painter’s internalization from the outside world. Through investigating on landscape paintings, this exhibition focuses on how painters in the past perceiving the world. Besides it will be asked that if there are any common attributes among oriental and western art.

    When analysing qualitative data, researchers can use an inductive or deductive approach to examining sources of data.     In 2004, the Library was greatly honored to receive the invaluable “Professor Cheung Siu-cheong Chinese Medicine Collection” donated by Professor KONG Yun Cheung, the founding director of the School of Chinese Medicine.     Workshop 1: 3D Printing, Scanning and Blender 3D Modeling Technique
