Exhibition: Welcome to the 60th Anniversary — the Origins of CUHK’s University Mace and Coat of Arms
Since ancient times, the mythical Chinese bird feng (鳳) has been regarded as the Bird of the South. Part of CUHK’s emblem since the University’s establishment nearly six decades ago, the feng symbolises nobility, beauty, loyalty and majesty. Throughout the University’s history, the “Feng” has evolved with CUHK. To welcome CUHK’s 60th anniversary, the Library and the Communications and Public Relations Office have organised an exhibition to demonstrate the design of this iconic symbol. Precious documents and artefacts are selected from the University Archives for display. They include the University Mace, Coat of Arms, graduate certificates, back issues of the University Bulletin, and anniversary souvenirs.
