One Group Study Pod (for two to four people) is available at Li Ping Medical Library. Users who are holding a valid CU Link Card or CUHK Library Card may book the pod for online meetings / seminars, or for group discussions.

Guidelines for using Group Study Pods

To ensure fair access to all eligible users, please observe the following guidelines:

  1. The Group Study Pod is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Booking can be made 7 days in advance through the Library Room Booking System.
  2. The Group Study Pod can be reserved by eligible users.
  3. Each Group Study Pod can only be reserved by a minimum of two users and occupied by two to four users.
  4. Duration of each booking session is 30-minute within Library Opening Hours.
  5. A maximum of one session can be reserved per day. The session can be reserved for a maximum of 4 continuous slots (or 2 hours).
  6. A maximum of 2 sessions can be made per week (from Sunday to Saturday) per eligible user.
  7. Users are required to swipe their CU Link Cards/ Library Cards at the designated check-in readers to enter the pod. If a user books 4 continuous slots from 13:00 to 15:00 within one single booking, users of the pod will only need to swipe the cards once at 13:00. On the other hand, if the 4 continuous slots are booked separately, e.g. first booking: 13:00-13:30; second booking: 13:30-15:00, users of the pod will need to swipe the cards twice at 13:00 and 13:30 respectively.
  8. Requesters who failed to check-in to the reserved pod 10 minutes into the booking session will be forfeiting their reservation.
  9. No-show without making any cancellation will count against the quota limit.
  10. Eating or drinking is strictly prohibited in the pod.
  11. Users are responsible for any damages of the furniture and equipment in the pod.
  12. Unless otherwise approved by the University Librarian, all Group Study Pods at CUHK Library are reserved for booking and use by eligible CUHK members for educational and non-commercial purposes ONLY.
